I decided to switch to Pioneer DVD receiver because I was tired of paying for updates for my previous receiver(I do not want to mention the name in this review). My order arrived in a timely manner. AVH-P4300DVD is my first Pioneer product and after reading the reviews at Amazon.com I didn’t waste a minute before buying it.I installed this receiver in my Ford explorer and the moment I plugged in I was blown away by the sound quality.

Cool 7″ Display of AVH-P4300DVD : You will instantly fall in love with the 7″ LCD display of AVH-P4300DVD receiver. It contrasts very well with my deck. The menus and scrolling is smooth and the touch screen works great. You can even have your own custom background animated or non animated. The display is bright enough even for the daylight and the screen doesn’t seem to attract fingerprints.
Pandora Integration Of AVH-P4300DVD : A real treat for Pandora lovers. The AVH-P4300DVD receiver provides direct control of Pandora through your iPhone and you can experience Pandora through your receiver. I am loving it.
Good Access Speed of AVH-P4300DVD : My previous receiver was really irritating when it came to speed. It used to take about 3-4 minutes for it to start up completely. Also while scrolling through music files in iPod mode the loading window showed up. Thanks to decent speed of AVH-P4300DVD those waiting times are over. The setup runs smoothly without any loading screen.
Provides Lots Of Varieties : This Pioneer unit allows you to play Divx movies with no problems a t all. I was able to paly all kinds of burned CDs and DVDs. AVH-P4300DVD supports SD memory cards,any audio source via USB connection and of course IPod. You can even hook up your PSP and play. Don’t do that while driving but.
iPod Control: AVH-P4300DVD allows you to connect your iPhone/iPod and provides full control through of unit functions right from the receiver.The “application mode” allows you to control from the iPod/iPhone itself.
Dual-Zone Audio/Video: This receiver allows additional rear screens and headphones for rear seat passengers to enjoy DVD or CD , even while the front passenger and driver operate navigation or listen to audio from other sources simultaneously.

Things I Did Not Like About AVH-P4300DVD Receiver: This unit lacks mp4 support without an iPod. I have many videos in mp4 format. If you have tons of videos in mp4 format then I would suggest using Divx’s converter software.You can get it on their website.
Secondly, the album art only displays Pandora/IPod devices.
Thirdly, the scrolling text does not allow you to see whole text.You might notice some parts of scrolling text missing.
You will not find support .flac files
You may find a little lack in the sub woofer controls but still my the sound quality is great so it is not a huge upset.
Despite the above shortcomings all in all it is a great unit. These flaws are minor ones and will not affect your experience.
